About
As I embarked on my journey across Kenya, I felt a thrill of excitement. The diverse landscapes, vibrant cultures, and incredible wildlife of this East African nation awaited.
Day 1-2: The Aberdare Highlands
My adventure began in the Aberdare National Park, where I checked into The Ark, a rustic lodge nestled in the heart of the forest. The game drive revealed elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife roaming freely. As night fell, I watched from the lodge's viewing deck as animals gathered at the watering hole.
Day 3-4: Lake Nakuru's Pink Paradise
Next, I traveled to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its pink flamingos. The alkaline lake shimmered like a mirage, and I spotted rhinos, lions, and leopards on the game drive. At Lake Nakuru Lodge, I enjoyed stunning views of the sunset.
Day 5-6: Masai Mara's Endless Plains
The Masai Mara National Reserve beckoned, with its endless plains stretching as far as the eye could see. I witnessed the Great Migration, where wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes trekked across the landscape. Mara Serena Lodge offered breathtaking views of the savannah.
Day 7-8: Lake Victoria's Shores
I continued to Lake Victoria and Kisumu, where I took a boat ride on the lake and visited the Kisumu Museum. The Imperial Hotel welcomed me with its warm hospitality.
Day 9-10: Kakamega's Lush Forest
In Kakamega Forest, I walked among towering trees and spotted monkeys, birds, and other forest wildlife. Rondo Retreat offered serene accommodations amidst nature.
Day 11-12: Tsavo West's Volcanic Landscape
Tsavo West National Park's volcanic landscape and Mzima Springs mesmerized me. At Kilaguni Serena Lodge, I watched the sunset over the savannah.
Day 13-14: Return to Nairobi
As I returned to Nairobi, I reflected on the incredible experiences of the past 14 days. Kenya had revealed its secrets, and I had fallen in love with the beauty and resilience of this African nation.
